Congratulations on qualifying for the Urban Debate National Championship!

This form will provide NAUDL with debater and coach information for this year's event. No information will be transmitted until you hit Submit. You can save your progress on this form and come back to it at a later time. This page is for debate team information only. Only complete this form once you have fully qualified for the tournament. Team Entry forms will be due no later than March 4.

To complete this form you will need:

Names, date of birth, graduation years, and dietary restrictions/food allergies for debaters
Signed media release forms for all participants (Under 18/Over 18)
Proof of school district employment or recent background check for coaches
Proof of Mandatory Reporter Training completion

If you have more than one entry in this year's event, you will need to complete a separate form for each entry.

Judging

Coaches are expected to judge. All coaches will be entered in the judging pool. We offer judge training for coaches who feel they are less experienced. It involves a training session, judge shadowing opportunities, and judging later in the tournament.

Background Checks, Mandatory Reporter Training & Media Release

Any adult who is not a school district employee or does not have a background check on file with the league must complete one with Sterling Volunteers (Code: bta0nde). Please upload a screenshot of either an email receipt of completed background check or initiation of your Sterling background check below.

This year we are requiring all adults to complete the "Protecting Students from Abuse" course provided through the NFHS website. This should take you approx. 30 min to complete.

Current teachers or school district employees who have completed Mandatory Reporter Training this school year may have this requirement waived.

Disclosure

All teams at the UDNC should post affirmative disclosure including their most recent 1AC cities to the NCDA Case List. They should also make sure previous negative positions they've run at recent tournaments are updated prior to the tournament. This resource helps teams from different languages prepare for a national level competition. It will also help all teams to develop negative strategies and refine your affirmative cases.

If you have any questions about disclosure or what should be disclosed, your coaches, program league staff and assigned Alumni Ambassadors can help you determine what should be posted.

New arguments do not need to be disclosed before they have been presented in a debate, but the wiki should be updated in a timely manner once new arguments are run.
